Kornhauskeller

Swiss

Bern

Kornhauskeller is a restaurant and bar set inside a heritage-protected vaulted cellar on Kornhausplatz in central Bern, directly next to the Zytglogge clock tower. The space is striking - a large, arched cellar hall with room for up to 700 guests, split between the main Kornhauskeller floor with its gallery bar and the Kornhausgalerie with a separate bar and lounge. The venue is part of the Bindella group, a family-owned Swiss hospitality company founded in 1909 that operates around 40 restaurants. Head chef Jorge Peixoto has led the kitchen since 1999.

The menu focuses on regional and seasonal produce alongside Bernese specialities and traditional classics. Groups of up to 14 can order from the a la carte menu, while groups of 15 or more are served a unified menu. The kitchen accommodates vegetarian diets. The cellar can be configured flexibly - individual table reservations, separated niche sections, or exclusive hire of the full space - with round tables, long banquet tables, or standing arrangements. An in-house Vinothek supplies the wine list, and sommelier-led wine tastings are available for private groups.
